Alert System Migration (New)
The new BloodCOMM Alert System functions fundamentally differently from the current system. To ensure there is no interruption of service, a system-wide migration will happen on the day the new alert system is activated.
The BloodCOMM Team has taken great care to ensure a successful migration, however if any issues are identified, please reach out to our customer support department, using this form.
Notice: Potential for Additional Alerts
Once the migration is performed, additional alerts may be sent out due to the change from per-user to Organization alerts.
This primarily affects Device Temperature alerts, as the new default setting is to send Excursion Alerts to every user for every device they have access to (such as crossing the 2°C or 6°C thresholds). To limit which users receive alerts for specific devices, you must set up your Organization Teams.
What to Expect During the Update
The new BloodCOMM Alert System functions fundamentally different form the current system, therefore a system-wide migration will happen the day that the new alert system is activated. Several things will happen simultaneously to ensure there will be no interruption of service.
- All base BloodCOMM alert settings from each user will be copied over to the new Alert Settings, one-for-one. This ensures that each user retains their same existing alert settings.
- When this happens, BloodCOMM will display a large, permanent banner, blocking changing of Alert Settings. Alerts will still send, but settings cannot be changed until the app updates.

- All organizations will have Excursion Alerts enabled for all users and all devices by default. This means that every user will receive an alert whenever a device they have access to crosses the 2°C or 6°C threshold.
- Organizations which have the Temperature Alert Thresholds policy setup will also have their warning thresholds added to the default alert configuration. This means that every user will receive an alert whenever a device they have access to crosses specified policy threshold.
- Note that the Temperature Alert Thresholds policy will no longer be present, replaced by the Organizational Alert Overrides.
