Bluetooth Connections

BloodCOMM supports connecting to and monitoring Bluetooth devices, using the BloodCOMM Mobile App.

Bluetooth Connections

Bluetooth Sync allows for direct, instant communication with nearby devices via bluetooth. While within bluetooth range (approx. 15 feet) of a Delta Device, the dashboard will show instant updates to the device's temperature, battery health, and more.

Bluetooth connections are not available in the web version of BloodCOMM. Please use the BloodCOMM mobile app to connect to Bluetooth devices.

If you have a BloodCOMM Pro or Premium Subscription, Bluetooth Data should only be used as a backup to the Cloud Data. Bluetooth connections do not support any Pro or Premium features, and are available entirely without a BloodCOMM subscription.

Ensure that the device is in Bluetooth mode before attempting to connect. Some devices are only able to be in either Bluetooth or Cell mode, but not both.

Realtime Data (Device Dashboard)

Realtime data will be presented automatically on the Device Dashboard for any nearby devices. Devices which are connected via Bluetooth will show a grey bluetooth icon on the bottom right. Tapping on the devie will immedately start the Bluetooth download.

Devices which are connected via BOTH Bluetooth and the BloodCOMM Cloud will show a "connectivity" icon on the bottom right. Tapping on these devices will prompt to select either the Bluetooth or the cloud report to download.

Historic Data (Device Reports)

See the article titled 'Device Reports - Overview', for more information on device reports.

When dowloading data via bluetooth, downloaded data is stored locally to the phone or tablet which downloaded the data. This data is not uploaded to the cloud or accessible from other devices.

Each time data is downloaded, the new data points are added to the existing local database, building up a "master" log which is able to preserve a comprehensive history of the device's data over time. This database is called the "Bluetooth Archive" - see below for more information.

Bluetooth Archives

Whenever data is downloaded via Bluetooth, a copy of the data is stored in the Bluetooth Archive. This allows users to access historical data and load snapshots of data.

On the Bluetooth Archive tab, a list of every previously connected device will be available. Tapping on the device will expand the menu, showing of basic metrics, along with a list of "Static" archives.

Since data is stored locally on the device, they will continue to take up space as the Master report grows. Master reports are able to be trimmed, removing old data, and Static reports can be deleted if needed. Note that generally this is not required as reports use very small amounts of data.

Legacy Scan Mode

The application supports a Legacy Scan Mode for older Bluetooth devices. This mode runs a much slower scan, enabling access to older Bluetooth devices that may not be compatible with the latest standards.

In order to enable Legacy Scan Mode, tap on the  icon in the bottom right of the screen, and tap to enable it on the last page of the tutorial.

  • Legacy Scan Mode not required for most ICE 2L's.
  • APRU-6L's with firmware versions below 2.7.2 may require legacy scan mode. The version is briefly displayed when first powering on the APRU.
