Organizational Alert Overrides (New)

Organizations may override personal alert settings

This article applies to BloodCOMM version 3.2.0, which may not be released at this time.  Please refer to the "Legacy" articles for instructions on configuring the legacy system.  https://info.deltadevteam.com/bloodcomm#alerts

IMPORTANT: Action Required for Alerts

In order to receive organizational alerts, your personal "Alerting Channels" must be properly set up. For example, this means verifying your email and phone number, or enabling Push Notifications. Read more

Organizational Alert Overrides

Your organization's administrators (such as your Fire Chief or Blood Bank Supervisor) can set mandatory alerts on your behalf to ensure you and your team receive critical notifications (i.e. temperature excursions) at the correct thresholds.

Key details about organization alerts:

  • Cannot be managed individually: You cannot edit, delete, or turn off individual alerts set by your organization.
  • Global Mute: While you cannot disable specific organization alerts, if you disable Cloud Alerts for your account, it will stop all alerts, including those set by your organization.
  • Deduplication: If you create a personal alert that exactly matches an organization alert, BloodCOMM will deduplicate them. You will only receive a single notification rather than duplicates.
How it Works

If administrators have applied alerting rules to your account based on your assigned Teams or Devices, they will appear on your Alert Settings page.

You can identify these alerts by looking for the following:

  • The Building Icon: Organization overrides are marked with a grey building icon. Hovering over the icon will display the message: "This alert is set by your Organization."
  • Read-Only Settings: Because these alerts are globally managed, the edit and delete options will be disabled for these specific settings.
Alert Channels and Delivery

Organization alerts are targeted to specific Teams or Devices and have specific "Alert Channels" defined by your administrator (for example: SMS only, email only, or both).

When a relevant event occurs (such as a temperature excursion), you will receive the notification provided you have the corresponding channel set up in your profile. For instance, if an organization alert is configured to send via SMS, it will only successfully deliver to you if you have a verified phone number on your account.

Having issues with an alert? If you believe an organization alert is triggering incorrectly or you are receiving unnecessary alerts, please contact your administrator to adjust the global settings.
