Alert Configuration Wizard (New)

The wizard assists users with setting up new alert configurations.

Configuring a New Alert

Threshold alerts are able to be configured using the Alert Configuration Wizard.  To start the wizard, click on the icon at the bottom right of the relevant alert page.

The wizard will guide you through setting up a new alert, and will present a summary at the end detailing when the alert will be sent.
  1. Alert Type
    1. Device Temperature
      The temperature of a device has crossed the relevant threshold. Used for Temperature Warnings and Excursion alerts. Note: For temperatures less than 4.0°C, the value must be decreasing, for temperatures greater than 4.0°C the value must be increasing.
    2. Time Until Excursion
      Also known as "Duration" or "Holdover", this value is the remaining time until an excursion is estimated to happen, based on internal device sensors and calculations. As this value takes into account multiple temperature sensors, battery life, and ambient conditions, it is recommended to use this over a simple temperature threshold to prevent excursions.
    3. Low Battery
      The battery of the device has crossed below the specified threshold. Note that the minimum value is 20% as the devices may enter power saving state or otherwise be unable to communicate with the BloodCOMM cloud with low battery.
    4. Device Offline
      The device has not connected to the BloodCOMM Cloud for more than the specified number of hours. It is recommended to set this value to a minimum of 8 hours, as all Delta Development devices have on-board storage, and cellular service may be unreliable in certain situations.
  2. Device Subscription
    1. All Devices
      The alert will trigger for all devices in your organization, which you have access to.  This means Admins will receive alerts for all devices, and all other users will receive alerts for the devices on their assigned Teams.
    2. By Device Type
      The alert will trigger for all devices of a specific model in your organization, which you have access to.  This means Admins will receive alerts for all devices, and all other users will receive alerts for the devices on their assigned Teams.
    3. Select Devices
      Select specific devices form a list of all devices you have access to to receive alerts for.
  3. Alert Threshold
    1. Select one or more thresholds which should trigger the alerting condition.  Note that the threshold must be crossed, meaning that a threshold of 5.5°C will send the alert when the device reports a temperature of 5.6°C 
  4. Notification Channels
    1. Select which channels to receive the alert on.  For example, this allows you to receive emails for less critical alerts and SMS messages for more critical alerts.
  5. Summary
    1. A summary will show all of the selected settings for review.  To alter settings, click the back button at the bottom.
    2. If updating an existing alert, the difference between the old and the new settings will be displayed.
